A Little Lunch & Learn
There’s a world within our world that lives and breathes all things wedding. It’s filled with people who delight in knowing the difference between grey-blue and glaucous. People who can help you navigate your internet browser with 14 open tabs. These people are called Wedding Vendors.
There’s a world within our world that lives and breathes all things wedding. It’s filled with people who delight in knowing the difference between grey-blue and glaucous. People who know what time your hair and makeup needs to start for your day to flow like it should. People who can help you navigate your internet browser with 14 open tabs. These people are called Wedding Vendors. And while you’re catching up on the last two years of wedding blogs and Pinterest boards trying to nail down the ideas and words to describe what you want and do it all within your budget – they’ll help you get what you’re looking for.
This year, we’ve made it easy. Kelsey & Nate is teaming up with A Little Party and 8 other vendors to provide A Little Lunch and Learn for 20 engaged ladies. It will be a relaxed event on August 27th, 2016 where we all will be coaching brides on what to expect during the wedding planning process and allowing them to comfortably interact with amazing vendors. It’s going to be a fun, swaggy event, designed to leave you feeling spoiled while also equipping you with the tools you need to plan the wedding that best represents you and your love as a couple.
We’re so excited to be a part of this and can’t wait to see what else A Little Party has up their sleeves for brides. There’s 20 spots and registration is LIVE now. It’s free and sizzlin’ so get it while it’s hot. The winners of the spots will be announced August 1st and I’d love to see your face and your gorgeous ring there.
Too good to be true? Nope. Your average Saturday from 10-1pm? Not a chance. Catch? You get to hang out with me. This is what we call a classic #winwinwin.
So tell a friend and open up one more tab on your browser to this page. Let’s make this world an easy one to navigate.
Unity Candle Alternatives
My heart was set on a destination beach wedding on the sands where I grew up in Florida but my budget was set on no. Still, there were some traditions we knew we wanted to make our own – one of those was the unity candle. So we decided to give the unity candle a makeover by making our own!
In planning our whirlwind wedding, we wanted our day to reflect us and the things we loved – including the people we invited to celebrate with us. My heart was set on a destination beach wedding on the sands where I grew up in Florida but my budget was set on no. We knew even if we traveled for an intimate dream wedding, we wouldn’t be able to celebrate with all the people who had invested in us and our relationship. So Idaho it was.
While much of the credit goes to my sister for finding my venue and my dress while I was in Vegas, there were some traditions we knew we wanted to make our own – one of those was the unity candle. Though I Pinterested “Unity Candle Alternatives” for a week, nothing we loved came up. So we decided to give the unity candle a makeover by making our own!
In a nutshell, we bought a container we liked, a wick, and two mild-scented candles. We melted the candles beforehand and transferred them to mason jars which were placed on candle warmers for the wedding. Putting greenery in front and around them helped camouflage the warmers and cords.
Then during the ceremony, we poured the wax together to create our very own unity candle. While we’re not hating on the traditional candle, we love the symbolism our candle holds and the depth of our commitment it reminds us of as it sits in our family room. I also love the tradition we’ve created around it - on our anniversary, we light the candle while we re-read our vows to each other. And every year without fail, I tear up.
So if you’re looking for an alternative to the traditional unity candle, feel free to use this idea like Keren did! And, if you’re looking to have an intimate destination wedding on a beach, we will totally come capture it!

It's Launch Day!
We were engaged and living across the country from each other, trying to dismiss time zones and connect over the phone. “Let’s get married and start a business” He said. My reply was swift, “That sounds like a terrible idea.”
